Costumes-sarjan teoksissa hahmo rakentuu näkyväksi puvun yksityiskohtien, tekstuurien, muotojen ja komposition kautta. Katseen painopiste siirtyy pois muotokuvan keskeisestä kohteesta, silmistä, jolloin hahmo etääntyy tunnistettavasta identiteetistä ja lähestyy rakenteellista ja fragmentaarista muotoa. Figuratiivinen maalaus muuttuu kohti abstrahoituja visuaalisia maisemia, ja kompositio luo vaikutelman teoksen jatkumisesta kuvan reunojen ulkopuolelle.
In the Costumes series, the figure is constructed through the details, textures, forms, and composition of clothing. As the focus of the gaze shifts away from the portrait’s central feature—the eyes—the figure moves away from a recognisable identity and towards a more structural and fragmented form. Figurative painting transforms into abstracted visual landscapes, while the composition creates the impression that the work continues beyond the edges of the image.
